Our mission

Our mission: To financially and politically ensure that our community’s most important livability concerns remain the priority of all of our elected officials.

Lowcountry Livability supports transportation infrastructure that includes provisions for pedestrians, bikes, and mass transit in proximity to places where people live, work, and play. We believe that our leaders must support reasonable and affordable housing opportunities and that all neighborhoods, districts, parks, and other aspects of the public realm are valuable resources, historically and culturally, and must be maintained, preserved, and developed for the use and enjoyment of residents, of all races and income levels. Lowcountry Livability also believes that tourism must be secondary to the needs of the residents.

We support politicians who make climate resilience planning an integral part of decision-making on all fronts in the face of sea level rise, hurricanes, and tidal flooding. Advancing these values, as a community with the right leaders, we can bridge divides and enable future generations to have more opportunities for success and high quality lives.
